About us hero

OUR ROOTS

Since Drylands was founded in 1980, we've continued to grow some of Marlborough's most prolific Sauvignon Blanc vines in the sun-scorched New Zealand landscape. Through careful nurturing and an unremitting goal to hone our expertise, Drylands' expressive character and quality remains consistent in each bottle we produce. Our deep understanding of the terroir ensures that our signature style and flavours flourish, carrying our legacy and values for many more years to come.

VINEYARD

Vineyards: Sourcing from the Wairau Valley & Awatere Valley, Drylands comes from some of the original Sauvignon Blanc vines in Marlborough planted in 1980.

Soil: Deep, fertile and stony soils that produce intense flavours of passionfruit, pink grapefruit, and citrus.

Climate: Maritime climate. Sun-scorched earth from hot, dry summers with cool nights to maintain acidity.

A mark of quality

Inspired by the captivating Marlborough region that has come to shape Drylands, our crest signifies each contributing factor of the terroir that plays a role in defining our wine.

The three trees: Originally depicted on our very first wine label, stand as a testament to the heritage and growth of our vineyard for over four decades.

The Wairau River: The river continues to endure its intense surroundings, inspires us with its unrelenting strength and beauty while providing for our vines.

Our vineyard rows: Stretching across the sun-scorched landscape, display our enduring legacy and commitment to quality.
